Meet Our Team

Meet the team that will treat your pet as their pet, with the best quality care.

Jennifer Jones, DVM
Veterinarian

I first decided I wanted to become a veterinarian when I was 8 years old. I started working at a veterinary clinic when I was 16 and I remember being absolutely amazed at the difference that those veterinarians were making in those pets’ lives. I loved watching them excitedly see a puppy for its first appointment, watching them really listen to clients and pay attention to the pets during sick exams, and watching their compassion while helping a pet pass with dignity. I have strived to become a veterinarian that offers all those incredibly important things. Being a practice owner has really allowed me to spend the time to create a team that also strives to really listen to our clients and fall in love with their pets.

I went to Auburn University for my undergraduate degree (I know, I know), and then graduated from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 2016. Since graduation I have worked in Duluth and Elberton, and have also filled in here and there as a relief veterinarian. My husband was offered his dream job, so we packed up and moved to Nicholson. We absolutely love it here and are very excited to meet more of the community.

Most of my free time is spent with my husband and our two kids, but I also love reading, baking, and spending time at the lake. Life never gets dull with our two dogs, one cat, and three goats.

Rita, Practice Manager, Lead Veterinary Assistant

Rita is one of our Lead Veterinary Assistants. She has been working in the field for over 20 years! She previously worked at an animal hospital in Franklin County before joining us here at East Jackson Animal Hospital. Rita loves getting to know the new clients and building relationships that will last for years to come. Her favorite part of vet med is diagnostics. She enjoys running bloodwork and doing cytologies to find out how to best treat a pet.
In her spare time Rita loves being outdoors and spending time with her family. Her husband and two boys keep her on her toes. Rita has five dogs, one cat and a snail – to keep things interesting! You can always find Rita with a smile on her face and a Pepsi in her hand. Come by and say hello to Rita when you’re passing through Nicholson.
